Privacy

Effective date: 12 September 2026.

The Rupee Fund is a FOSS United community initiative run by community members. The community team manages the launch notification list. We adopt the privacy standards in the FOSS United privacy policy, dated 7 February 2024, with the local rules below. These local rules define our data use and take precedence where the source differs. We do not adopt the source's wider uses for marketing, profiling, event tickets, or ownership transfers. Foundation roles named in the source do not become Rupee Fund roles through adoption. Later changes to the source do not change this policy automatically.

What we collect

• Your name.
• Your email address.
• The time of your consent, signup, and latest update.
• The page that you used to join.
• The amount each month that you say you can give.
• The number of months that you say you can give, if you answer.
• The question that you ask the team, if you ask one.
• Whether you tick the box for monthly updates.
• Which of FOSS user, FOSS contributor and student you tick, if you tick any.

We keep this data to send you one email when the fund opens, to send you monthly updates if you tick the box, and to plan the fund. Your answers about money bind you to nothing. We take no payment. We hold no payment details. Access to your answers is limited to the people who administer the list and the services that process it.

Storage and retention

Cloudflare hosts this site and stores the list. The team can export the list to prepare the launch email. We retain entries for launch planning and notification. We have not set a fixed deletion date. Removal from the mailing list retains your entry as described below.

Your IP address

We read your IP address when you send the form. We use it to prevent abuse. When your browser runs JavaScript, we also send it to Cloudflare with the bot check below. We do not store it in your list entry. Cloudflare also processes connection data to provide hosting and abuse protection.

Bot protection

When your browser runs JavaScript, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to tell a person apart from a bot. Cloudflare states what Turnstile collects in the Turnstile Privacy Addendum.

Fonts

Each page loads fonts from Google Fonts. Google receives your IP address.

Profile photos

The Team page loads profile photos from GitHub. GitHub receives your IP address when your browser requests these photos.

How to leave the list

Send an email to rupeefund@fossunited.org. We take you off the list. We keep your entry, and we mark it as removed, so that a later signup cannot add you again. Ask at any time.
